The rogue elephant, captured with the help of Kumkis (trained elephant) two days ago here, is still remaining aggressive at Anamalai Tiger Reserve camp in the district, forest officials said.
The elephant, translocated to the camp, has been kept in a specially made wooden kraal surrounded by five Kumkis, to prevent it from breaking open the cage and freeing itself.
The 'Maharaj', which had killed three persons and been causing damage to crops in neighbouring human habitations in Madukarai forest range here was captured after being tranquilised.
It was taken to the Varakaliyur camp in Top Slip, about 60 KMs from here, with the help of four kumkis.
Nearly 20 forest department staff are monitoring the pachyderm and normal food was being fed to it, officials said.
The department will begin its exercise to domesticate the elephant and train it in another 10 days, they added.
