The Home Ministry, which is often seen in conflict with the AAP government on administrative issues, has asked all its officials to adopt car pooling to make the odd-even formula proposed by the city government successful.
The Home Ministry has made arrangements for senior officers to reach office through car pooling and attending meetings in other Ministries and Departments during the 15 day period of odd-even car system beginning tomorrow.
An official notification was also issued specifying which officer will travel with whom while coming to office as well as returning home, official said.
The arrangements were made for officers in the rank of Joint Secretary and above.
Junior officers, who are not entitled to office car, will have to make their own arrangement of travel during the coming fortnight.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh and his two deputies - Kiren Rijiju and Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary - have been exempted from the odd-even formula of the Delhi government.
None of the three Secretary level officers posted in the Home Ministry - Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, Secretary (Border Management) Anoop Srivastava and Secretary (Internal Security) Ashok Prasad have been exempted from the order.
Five Additional Secretary level officers and about 22 Joint Secretaries in the Home Ministry will also have to abide by the odd-even formula.
