The rally, comprising 600 cars, started from Sector 19 and culminated at Noida Entrepreneur Association (NEA) office in Sector 6.
"Though Noida is declared no power-cut zone but still 6 to 7 hours power cuts are being experienced by industrialists here. The tariff hike of 25 to 42 percent is unjustified. This will increase cost of production," NEA president Vipin Malhan said while addressing the rally.
Malhan suggested that power distribution companies should concentrate on checking power thefts in the state which is around 30 per cent. However, Noida has only just 6 per cent power theft.
The Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPSERC) has recently hiked power tariff for commercial and industrial consumers, while exempting domestic and rural consumers in the state.
