A video of the incident went viral on social media showing the car suddenly taking a sharp turn hitting the two women at a high speed and fleeing the spot.
An unidentified car coming from opposite direction rammed into Radha Bai (27) and Krishna Bai (35), both sanitation workers at the Max hospital, when they were walking down to their work place this morning, investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mithilesh Tripathi said.
He said the duo was rushed to government-run Hamadia Hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger.
After injuring the women, who come to work at the hospital from neighbouring Vidisha district daily, the accused reversed the car and fled the spot.
