Cardamom edges higher on demand from retailers

Barring a rise in cardamom prices on pick-up in demand from retailers, other spices held steady at the local kirana market in the national capital today in restricted activity.
Traders said scattered demand from retailers mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices.
Cardamom small chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra-bold were up by Rs 5 each to Rs 775-825, Rs 675-695, Rs 695-725 and Rs 895-925 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's quotations:
Ajwain (per kg) 155-200, black pepper (per kg) 730-925, betel-nut (kg) 270-320, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,630-1,680 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,750-1,870.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 775-825, cardamom (colour robin) 675-695, cardamom bold 695-725, cardamom extra (bold) 895-925 and cloves 710-810.
