Cardamom extends gain, up 0.73% on rising demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Continuing its upward journey for the third straight day, cardamom prices gained another 0.73 per cent to Rs 1,145 per kg in futures trading as participants engaged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on surging domestic and exports demand.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upsurge.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November gained Rs 8.30, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 1,145 per kg, in a business turnover of 11 lots.
Similarly, spice for delivery in October edged up by Rs 4.40, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 1,156 per kg in one lot.
Marketmen said besides strong domestic and exports demand in the spot market, tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from growing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
