Cardamom prices eased 0.17 per cent to Rs 829.90 per kg in futures trade today as participants started reducing their holdings triggered by ample stocks.
Also, subdued demand in the spot market contributed to the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June traded lower by Rs 1.40, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 829.90 per kg in business turnover of 42 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in July edged down by 50 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 805 per kg in 4 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants driven by adequate stock position on higher supplies from producing belts against sluggish demand influenced cardamom prices in futures trade.
