Cardamom futures decline 0.35% on profit-booking
Press Trust of India New Delhi Cardamom prices eased by 0.35 per cent to Rs 846.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid fall in demand in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stock in the physical market following increased arrivals from growing belts weighed.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November month contracts fell by Rs 3, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 846.20 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in October contracts traded lower by Rs 2.50, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 829.90 per kg in 51 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
