Cardamom prices softened by 0.37% to Rs 922.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January next year declined by Rs 3.40, or 0.37% to Rs 922.70 per kg in business turnover of 174 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 3.50, or 0.37% to Rs 951.60 per kg in 12 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit booking by speculators at existing higher levels, fall in demand in spot market also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
