Cardamom prices fell 1.23% to Rs 826.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded positions amid adequate stocks in spot markets on increased arrivals from producing regions.

Besides, sluggish demand in the spot market put pressure on cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell by Rs 10.30, or 1.23%, to Rs 826.20 per kg in a business turnover of 259 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 10, or 1.19%, to Rs 831 per kg in 11 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by sufficient stocks position in the spot markets on increased arrivals from producing belts, mainly pulled down cardamom prices in futures trade.
