Cardamom prices drifted lower by 2.99 per cent to Rs 1,151 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October fell by Rs 35.50, or 2.99 per cent, to Rs 1,151 per kg in a business turnover of 18 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September lost Rs 29.60, or 2.49 per cent, to Rs 1,161 per kg in 69 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing level, fall in demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly pulled down cardamom prices at futures trade.
