Cardamom prices fell 2.03 per cent to Rs 817 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure amid low demand against higher supplies in spot market from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June fell by Rs 16.90, or 2.03 per cent, to Rs 817 per kg in a business turnover of 325 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July edged down by Rs 12.50, or 1.45 per cent, to Rs 849 per kg in 11 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators amid higher supplies from producing regions and sluggish demand in the spot market mainly pulled down cardamom prices in futures trade.
