Cardamom futures fell by 1.53% to Rs 911.20 per kg today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid subdued spot demand.

Adequate stocks in the physical market also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April declined by Rs 14.20, or 1.53%, to Rs 911.20 per kg in a business turnover of 349 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in May shed Rs 10.80, or 1.14%, to Rs 931.50 per kg with trading volume of 61 lots.

Analysts said profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels and subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
