Cardamom prices advanced by 1.35% to Rs 1,164 per kg in futures trade today as participants enlarged positions amid rising domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October gained Rs 15.50 or 1.35% to Rs 1,164 per kg in business turnover of 122 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in September contracts traded higher by Rs 15.40 or 1.32% to Rs 1,183.70 per kg in 437 lots.

Analysts said besides rising domestic as well as export demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
