Continued its losing streak for the fourth straight day, cardamom prices shed another 0.85% to Rs 733.50 per kg in futures market today as traders engaged in reducing their positions, triggered by ample stocks positions at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January 2016 drifted by Rs 6.30, or 0.85% to Rs 733.50 per kg in a business turnover of 19 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in February contracts shed Rs 4.90, or 0.63% to Rs 775 per kg in 7 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants, triggered by sufficient stocks on higher supplies from growing regions in the physical market against subdued demand mainly kept cardamom prices down at futures trade.
