Continuing its losing streak for the third straight day, cardamom prices fell further by 0.36% to Rs 920 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing positions amid adequate stocks against subdued demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell by Rs 3.30, or 0.36%, to Rs 920 per kg in a business turnover of four lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 1.60, or 0.17%, to Rs 915.50 per kg in 157 lots.
Market analysts said weak trend at spot market on adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing belts against subdued demand mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
