Cardamom futures fell by 0.30 per cent to Rs 1,549 per kg today as traders trimmed their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.
Besides, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing regions also fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February declined by Rs 4.70, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 1,549 per kg, in a business turnover of six lots.
The spice for delivery in far-month March was down by Rs 2.10, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 1,520 per kg with a trading volume of 31 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
