Cardamom futures fall 0.48 pc on muted demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Cardamom futures fell by 0.48 per cent to Rs 1,513 per kg today as speculators trimmed their bets amid muted physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing regions also fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February eased by Rs 7.30, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 1,513 per kg in a business turnover of 59 lots.
The spice for delivery in March was trading down by Rs 5, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 1,556 per kg with a trading volume of 14 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
