Cardamom prices fell 0.66% to Rs 949 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid adequate stocks in the physical market following higher supplies from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February 2015 fell by Rs 6.40, or 0.66%, to Rs 949 per kg in a business turnover of 45 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January shed Rs 5.80, or 0.62%, to Rs 924.10 per kg in 235 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
