Cardamom futures fell by 0.72% to Rs 709.20 per kg today, as traders indulged in reducing their holdings amid subdued spot demand.

Besides, sufficient stocks in the physical market also influenced its prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for January 2016 contract declined by Rs 5.20, or 0.72%, to Rs 709.20 a kg with a business turnover of 174 lots.

The spice for delivery in February was down by Rs 3.20, or 0.42%, to Rs 753 per kg with a trading volume of 43 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
