Amid profit-booking by speculators and subdued spot demand, cardamom prices were down by 2.98% to Rs 633.50 per kg in futures trade today.

Furthermore, adequate stocks position in the physical market on account of higher supply from the producing belts too weighed on cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February fell Rs 19.50, or 2.98%, to Rs 633.50 per kg, in a business turnover of 240 lots.

Marketmen said apart from profit-booking by speculators, sluggish demand in the spot markets, mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
