Cardamom prices were up by 0.48 per cent to Rs 695.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions after pick up in demand in the spot market.
Besides, restricted supplies from producing regions and some exports enquiries supported the upside.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month rose by Rs 3.30, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 695.50 per kg in business turnover of 50 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in far-month January 2016 edged up by Rs 1.60, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 757 per kg in 8 lots.
Analysts said besides pick up in demand in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
