Cardamom futures remain up, gain 2.03% on strong demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Cardamom prices strengthened by 2.03 per cent to Rs 1,179 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in building up positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong domestic as well as exports demand.
Besides, tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing regions supported the upmove.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery this month increased by Rs 23.50, or 2.03 per cent, to Rs 1,179 per kg, in a business turnover of 8 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 17.50, or 1.80 per cent, to Rs 991.20 per kg in 57 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants due to pick up in domestic as well as exports demand against tight stocks position on restricted arrivals from producing regions, mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
