Tight supplies from producing belts following end of the harvesting season also supported cardamom price uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July rose by Rs 3.80 or 0.44 per cent to Rs 860 per kg in a business turnover of 97 lots.
Spice for delivery in August gained Rs 2.60 or 0.29 per cent to Rs 884.70 per kg in 12 lots.
Market analysts said besides rise in demand in the spot market, tight supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher.
