Cardamom prices rose 0.73% to Rs 971 per kg in futures trade today after traders and speculators created fresh positions due to strong demand in the spot market.
Further, restricted supplies and export enquiries also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for May delivery rose Rs 7.10, or 0.73%, to Rs 971 per kg in a business volume of 523 lots.
Market analysts said rising spot demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures market.
