Cardamom prices moved up by 0.99 per cent to Rs 1,269 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in creating fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November month rose by Rs 12.40, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 1,269 per kg in business turnover of 25 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in December month gained Rs 8.50, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 1,330 per kg in 19 lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions built up by traders on the back of uptick in domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
