Cardamom prices declined 0.88% to Rs 723.10 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand.

Besides, adequate stock position on higher supplies from producing regions in the physical market weighed on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month fell by 6.40, or 0.88% to Rs 723.10 per kg in business turnover of 109 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month January traded lower by Rs 5, or 0.66% to Rs 753.30 per kg in 44 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend at the spot market on muted demand against ample stock position on higher supplies from producing belts led to the decline in cardamom prices in futures trade.
