Cardamom prices drifted lower by 1.05 per cent to Rs 1,401.10 per kg in futures market today as traders trimmed their positions, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February 2017 fell by Rs 14.80, or 1.05 per cent, to Rs 1,401.10 per kg, in a business turnover of 34 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January shed 50 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 1,398 per kg in 148 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
