Amid pick up in domestic demand and tight supplies from producing regions, cardamom prices rose 0.43 per cent to Rs 910.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month December moved up by Rs 4.10, or 0.43 per cent to Rs 910.40 per kg in business turnover of 60 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in November contract edged up by Rs 1.80, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 896 per kg in 250 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
