Cardamom prices today rose by Rs 6.80, or 0.65% to Rs 1,042.90 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged their positions supported by good buying in spot markets amid tight stock position on restricted supplies from major producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February rose by Rs 6.80, or 0.65%, to Rs 1,042.90 per kg in business turnover of 574 lots.
In a similar fashion, spice for delivery in March gained Rs 2.60, or 0.24%, to Rs 1,080.10 per kg in 137 lots.
Market analysts said besides rise in demand in spot markets, tight supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
