Amid upsurge in demand at domestic spot market and restricted arrivals from producing regions, cardamom prices rose by 1.32% to Rs 822 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month July rose by Rs 10.70 or 1.32% to Rs 822 per kg in a business turnover of 28 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts traded higher by Rs 4.50 or 0.56% to Rs 810 per kg in 19 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted arrivals from producing belts.
