Cardamom prices softened by 0.63 per cent to Rs 1,201.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators book profits amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September fell by Rs 7.60, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 1,201.50 per kg, in a business turnover of 17 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in October shed 90 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 1,178 per kg in four lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants, fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly attributed the fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
