Cardamom prices edge lower on subdued demand

Cardamom brown prices drifted lower by Rs 20 per kg in the national capital today as demand eased from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing regions.
Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices declined by Rs 20 each to conclude at Rs 1,310-1,320 and Rs 1,350-1,580 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 175-240, black pepper (per kg) 730-860, betel-nut (kg) 230-280, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,310-1,320 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,350-1,580.
