Cardamom small prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of a pick-up in demand from retailers and stockists amid restricted arrivals from growing regions.
Cardamom small varieties such as Chitridar, colour robin bold and extra bold rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 525-650, Rs 535-540, Rs 555-565 and Rs 640-650 per kg, respectively.
Traders said apart from buying support from retailers and stockists, rising domestic demand, mainly pushed up cardamom prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-240, black pepper (per kg) 720-860, betel-nut (kg) 260-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,260-1,270 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,360-1,600.
