Cardamom small variety strengthens on festive demand

Cardamom small variety prices rose further by Rs 10 per kg at the wholesale kirana market today on increased demand, triggered by festive season.
However, other spices moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said increased demand supported by festive season mainly kept cardamom small variety prices higher.
In the national capital, cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold advanced by Rs 10 each to Rs 710-760, Rs 690-750, Rs 740-760 and Rs 910-960 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 740-890, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,400-1,460 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,640.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 710-760, cardamom (colour robin) 690-750, cardamom bold 740-760, cardamom extra (bold) 910-960 and cloves 840-890.
