Cardamom trades up on rising demand

Cardamom prices were up by Rs 10 per kg at the local kirana market today on rising demand against tight supplies from producing belts.
Traders said besides rising demand, restricted arrivals from producing regions led to the rise in cardamom prices.
In the national capital, cardamom small (Chitridar), (colour robin, bold and (extra bold ) were up by Rs 10 each to Rs 700-750, Rs 680-740, Rs 730-750 and Rs 900-950 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 750-900, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,400-1,460 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,640.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 700-750, cardamom (colour robin) 680-740, cardamom bold 730-750, cardamom extra (bold) 900-950 and cloves 850-900.
