Ben Cardin, a senior Democratic senator, today disapproved of Donld Trump's controversial statement that Muslims were not welcome in the US, saying it is not akin to the American values and the view will be challenged.
Trump is a strong contender to be the Republican Party's nominee for the US Presidential polls.
"When a person makes a statement that Muslims are not welcome, I am going to challenge that as will the people of America. That's not America all about.
"To me that's not trying to take a partisan position in the campaigning, but to be clear about American values," Cardin said.
