"We expect out of these (the 7 hotels), Radisson Blu Srinagar and Country Inns & Suites in Jammu will open this year," Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group CEO South Asia Raj Rana told PTI.
Carlson is all set to expand its footprint in the state, particularly in Kashmir, as it looks to set up six hotels under its Radisson and Country Inn and Suites brands in the valley, and one in Jammu. This will take its total count in Jammu and Kashmir to nine.
In December 2015, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group had signed a portfolio deal with the Mushtaq Group to open seven hotels comprising 817 rooms in Jammu and Kashmir.
"We have now seven properties in J&K with the Mustaq Group. We will have Radisson Blu and Radisson in Srinagar," Rana said, adding that Radisson Blue Resort Hotel will come up in Tangmarg, Sonamarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and another mid-scale property Country Inn and Suites in Jammu. These are now under development.
Rana also spoke of the region with strong domestic demand, which is home to some of the leisure hotpsots in India.
