'Carol' wins big at Gay & Lesbian Entertainment Critics awards

Cate Blanchett-Rooney Mara starrer "Carol" made a clean sweep at Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association's awards Including gongs for film director, film actress and LGBTQ film of the year.
The same-sex drama's director Todd Haynes also took home the wilde artist of the year award for his exceptional work besides Blanchett winning the film actress gong.
Leonardo DiCaprio scored film actor of the year for his role in "The Revenant," while Amy Schumer took away the wilde wit of the year honour.
Channing Tatum starrer, "Magic Mike XXL," won the campy flick of the year notch.
"Amy" directed by Asif Kapdia received the documentary of the year award whereas Oscar-nominated Hungarian movie "Son of Saul" won the foreign language film of the year.
George Miller's action drama "Mad Max: Fury Road" took home the visually striking film of the year notch.
Meanwhile in the TV categories, "Transparent" had the most wins with three, including TV Comedy of the Year, LGBTQ Show of the Year, and TV Actor of the Year for Jeffrey Tambor.
Taraji P Henson was named TV Actress of the Year for "Empire".
