The 56-year-old actress and her co-stars Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill were each approached by the sci-fi films' creator George Lucas and the franchise's new bosses at Disney and asked to be a part of 'Star Wars VII'.
Fisher said that she is onboard the next film, which will be directed by JJ Abrams, reported The Telegraph.
When asked what she thinks her updated Leia will look like in the new film, she joked, "Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks' home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."
The star, who is bipolar, was hospitalised while medics adjusted her medication.
