A gang of vehicle lifters, who are active on national highways, had stolen the four-wheelers worth Rs 50 lakh under Sundargarh police station in Odihsa and struck a deal to sell them to a couple of purchasers for Rs 20 lakh in Hazariabgh.

The purchasers informed the police when the engine and other relevant numbers did not match with the manufactures of the vehicles, the sources said.

Following this the police seized the two vehicles last night.

The police were interrogating some persons to bust the racket.
