Another night will feature the 'Mothers of the Movement', the mothers of Sandra Bland, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and other African-Americans who have died in high-profile incidents over the past few years.
Bank employees to go on strike this Friday
Friday will see around a million bank employees going on an all-India strike to oppose government policies related to the banking sector. The strike is to oppose measures to merge public sector banks, appointment of private individuals as executives to these banks, and to demand action against wilful corporate defaulters. The strike has been called by the All India Bank Employees's Association. Employees of public sector banks, old private banks, regional rural banks, foreign banks, and co-operative banks will participate in the strike. Bank of Baroda has already announced to its customers that it has got a strike notice.
