The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today closed a petition against a Puthiya Tamizhagam MLA after it was informed that the case has been transferred to the file of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
Nagarajan, a PWD contractor and AIADMK functionary, had filed a petition stating that he had lodged a complaint against the Nilakottai PT MLA A Ramasamy alleging that he took commission for allotting works under the MLA constituency development fund allotted during 2011-12.
Nagarajan, in his complaint, said when he demanded return of the commission money as the MLA did not provide adequate works, the MLA allegedly threatened him.
The District Crime Branch found that the allegations against the MLA were true and registered a cheating case against him. However, no action was taken against the MLA, the petitioner claimed and he approached the court for a direction to file the final report in the case.
When the case was taken up before Justice G M Akbar Ali, the government advocate submitted that the case was transferred to the file of DVAC, Chennai, for further action.
Recording the submission, the judge closed the petition.
