A case of fraud has been registered against three persons, including a former Uttar Pradesh Postmaster General, on the directive of a court here today.
On the directive of Chief Judicial Magistrate Shivani Jaiswal, a case was lodged against former Postmaster General Kamlesh Chandra, his son Ayush Chandra and another person at the Kotwali Police Station, police said.
One Kamlesh had moved the court on December 24 last year alleging he and two others had gone to the house of the former Postmaster General in Lucknow for seeking jobs and were asked to pay Rs 15 lakh.
Rs 60,000 were handed over to ex-Postmaster General's son Ayush at a hotel in Barabanki on November 25, 2011 and the remaining amount was paid in January 2012, the petitioner further alleged.
Whey they made enquiries regarding promised jobs, they were threatened, the petition said, according to police.
The petitioner's counsel said since Kamlesh Chandra is, at present, a member of the Postal Recruitment Board, the Communication Minister had been informed about this.
Kamlesh Chandra is son of former MP Baijnath Kureel.
