Cash seized from city and Coonoor

An amount of Rs 25.21 lakh unaccounted cash was seized in four different location duriang vehicle check from the city and Coonoor in Nilgiris district, police said today.
Police said Rs four lakh each were seized from the occupants of two cars in the city todxay, who could not produce proper documents for the money they were carrying.
Similarly at Coonoor in Nilgiris district officials seized Rs 9.5 lakh and Rs 8.16 lakh from two persons, who were also travelling in cars, as they could not produce any documents to substantiate their claim yesterday, police said.
Once they produce proof for the money, it would be returned, they said.
