Four persons were arrested after Rs 2 crore unaccounted cash was allegedly seized from them in the city, police said today.
During a raid as a part of poll-related checking, police intercepted a car at Morampudi junction here late last night and found the four persons illegally carrying Rs two crore, Rajahmundry (Urban) Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar Murthy said.
"Such a huge amount was seized for the first time in East Godavari district," he said.
The amount was apparently drawn to pay the salaries and arrears of employees of a construction company, he said.
Interrogation of the arrested persons was on, Murthy added.
