Cash, valuables looted from Noida house, occupants assaulted

A gang of robbers allegedly looted cash and valuables from a house in Noida early today and assaulted its occupants when they tried to prevent the bid.
Rakesh Singh, an engineer, his wife Neeru were asleep when the robbers entered the house in the wee hours today, police said.
The couple, who lived in the house on rent, woke up after hearing some noise and tried to prevent the robbery.
The gang members assaulted them with iron rods.
Neighbours came to their rescue, but the robber managed to flee with a mobile phone, cash and other valuables, police said, adding the injured couple was admitted to a hospital.
Police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the criminals.
