Cashew rises on increased buying support

Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg at the dry fruits market in the national capital today on increased buying by retailers and stockists amid tight stocks following fall in supplies.
Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 traded Rs 5 each higher at Rs 805-855, Rs 725-745, Rs 675-685 and Rs 620-635 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against restricted supplies from growing belts, mainly pushed up cashew prices.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 23,200, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,600-11,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 7,200-7,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 790-810 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 750-850 per kg.
