"Babasaheb (Ambedkar) had dreamt of a caste-less society. We are of the opinion that caste should not be the base for reservation, but when we air this opinion many of the society members go against us," J V Pawar, a close aide of Ambedkar, said here.
Asked if the outfit, called as Bharip, wanted to join the RSS on the issue as its chief Mohan Bhagwat had reportedly suggested a review of reservation policy, Pawar discounted any such possibility.
Remarks of Pawar, who recently released a book titled 'Dr B R Ambedkar's Social Revolution', came separate of Ambedkar who is organising a state-level conference, "Jatiantakadun Rashtravadakade" (from ending caste system to nationalism) at Ahmednagar on December 20.
Ambedkar said he will discuss the measures on ways and means to encourage people not to use their caste at the conference.
