Market players said offloading of holdings in tandem with a weak trend at the domestic physical market on fading demand from consuming industries mainly led to fall in castorseed prices here in futures trading.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castor seed for delivery in June slipped by Rs 30 to Rs 4,812 per quintal, open interest stood at 54,000 lots.
Castorseed for the most-active May contracts also dropped by Rs 29 or 0.61 per cent to Rs 4,723 per quintal in an open interest of 66,740 lots.
